Why study data analysis and applied statistics?

The largest data sets in history are being created today. Last year half of the world's population sent a tweet, read the news, ordered a ride, made an online purchase, streamed videos, or in some way, engaged with each other through the internet. This web traffic produces 2.5 Quintilian bytes of new data every day, and that number is on the rise.

The Data Analysis and Applied Science Master's curriculum offers students a strong foundation in statistics so that they begin to extract meaningful insights from large data sets and harness their potential.

About our Prorgam

Class is held one evening per week at our Northern Virginia campus (NVC) in Falls Church, VA. The NVC campus is walking distance from the Metro - Orange line West Falls Church station. Parking is available for students who drive.

We have designed our curriculum with the working student in mind, so our semesters are a blend of in-person class one evening per week and one online course. We want to maximize learning time and minimize commuting time.

Students can begin their degree in the Fall or Spring semesters.

Fall Deadline: August 1, 2020

Spring Deadline: December 15, 2020

The Capstone project gives students experience solving complex data-driven problems from real-world data sets.  This approach gives students experience using the skills and knowledge acquired during their course of study and provides them with a robust portfolio piece to show future employers.
