Conference Schedule 2005	Research Seminar

Thursday, September 29 through Saturday, October 1 , the faculty and graduate students of the Virginia Tech Department of Statistics will be hosting the fourth annual Corporate Partners Program Conference. Lodging, meals, and local transportation will be provided for two representatives of each corporate partner so that we can make the most of our weekend together. The highlights are

one-on-one interviews with Masters and Ph.D. candidates,
advisory meetings with departmental leaders,
an afternoon symposium to present current research projects,
and plenty of opportunities to develop professional relationships and joint projects.

Thursday, September 29
Arrival	Roanoke Airport (ROA) to Blacksburg AmeriSuites (Driving directions) Partners arrive.

6:15 p.m.	Blacksburg AmeriSuites. Hosts will take early arriving partners out for dinner.

Friday, September 30
7:00 - 8:30 a.m.	Blacksburg AmeriSuites, Breakfast.
9:00a.m - 12:00 noon	Departmental Conference Room, 418-A Hutcheson Hall Advisory Committee Meeting, chaired by Geoff Vining. One representative of each company meets with key committee chairs (Statistical Consulting Center, Graduate Program, Undergraduate Program, and Personnel Committee).	Squires Student Center Interviews. One representative of each company meets graduate students in one-on-one interviews.
12:00-1:00 p.m.	India Garden Restaurant (210 Prices Fork Rd, Backsburg, VA, (540) 951-5100) Directions Lunch. Partners with Advisory Committee
2:00 - 4:15 p.m.	Squires Student Center, Room 341/345 Research Seminar, chaired by Bill Woodall. Short presentations of current research by selected graduate students.	Squires Student Center Interviews. One representative of each company meets graduate students in one-on-one interviews.
6:30 p.m.	The Farmhouse Restaurant ( 285 Ridinger St., Christiansburg, VA, 540.382.4253) Directions Dinner. Partners, faculty, and graduate students.
Saturday, October 1
8:00 a.m. - noon	Departmental Conference Room Interviews and Meetings. Faculty and graduate students will be available to meet with partners individually as desired.
Afternoon	Virginia Tech Golf Course Fourth Annual Bob Foutz Golf Challenge. Let us know by Thursday if you want to play 9 or 18 holes. All are welcome. Jefferson National Forest Hike
