Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (LISA)
Welcome to the LISA (Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis). We are a laboratory within the Department of Statistics at Virginia Tech. The statistical collaborators in LISA can provide assistance with grant proposals, experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results. Areas of expertise include:

Statistical assistance is free for Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students. The laboratory is jointly funded by the Graduate School, the Provost Office, the Office of Research, and the College of Science, and receives support from the seven additional Colleges.

LISA Short Courses
We provided a series of evening short courses to help graduate students use statistics in their research. The focus of these two-hour courses was on teaching practical statistical techniques for analyzing or collecting data. Opportunities during each course will be provided to ask statistical consultants specific questions about the attendees' research. For more information go to the short courses page.

A statistical consultant is available every day to answer your quick questions or to help with research projects requiring less than 30 minutes of assistance. For more in-depth questions or longer projects, complete the Consulting Request Form and a team of statistical collaborators will be assigned to work with you. Note: the LISA does not assist with class projects or homework.
